What’s better than sharing your passions with other curious people? Through lectures and workshops, I am happy to talk about my experiences and expertise with audiences, big and small.
I can attest not just to her vast knowledge but to her passion for many historical topics, as well as her ability to keep audiences engaged and entertained. If you have the opportunity to attend one of Kate’s talks, run don’t walk.

I often joke that, once you get me talking about my research, it’s hard to get me to stop. I’m passionate about my work and glad to share stories, tips, and how-tos with like-minded people. In the past, I have presented original research through lectures; I have led genealogy workshops at local libraries; I have guest facilitated a library book club; and I have presented historical topics to special interest groups.
Here are just a few places and organizations that have asked me to speak:
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (Historic and Natural Resources Division)—Marietta House Museum and Surratt House Museum
Prince George’s County Memorial Library System
Vinalhaven Public Library
The Sulgrave Club of Washington, D.C.
If your organization, society, institution, or special interest group is looking for a fun and relaxed learning experience, I’d be glad to work with you to put together a program.

If you think I would be a good fit for your event, business, institution, or special interest group, I would love to work with you. Please use this form to get in touch so we can begin to plan your program.
Along with your name and contact, please tell me about your vision: what topics interest you and your guests, what kind of program (lecture or workshop) you’d like to plan, and whether this is a paid or volunteer opportunity.
I’ll get in touch as soon as possible. Thank you!
